Pricing modifiers let you charge more or less based on when a hire starts and ends. Set a weekend surcharge, a public holiday rate, or a midweek discount once, and Lockii applies it automatically at checkout and on every booking recalculation.
Modifiers run in the background. Customers see the adjusted price in the order summary and pricing breakdown. You do not need to change base rates or create duplicate products.
In the app: Settings → Pricing Details → Pricing modifiers
A pricing modifier is a percentage adjustment tied to a time window:
Positive percentage — increases the hire price (surcharge).
Negative percentage — decreases the hire price (discount).
Lockii calculates the adjustment on the product hire price after your pricing template runs. Multiple modifiers can apply to the same booking when each rule matches.
Modifiers use your company timezone so day and time windows line up with your operating hours, including when bookings cross weekends or daylight saving changes.
Type
When to use it
Day pricing rule
Recurring weekly windows, such as Friday 5:00 PM to Sunday 11:59 PM every week
Date pricing rule
One-off or seasonal windows with a fixed start and end date/time, such as a public holiday weekend
Each modifier includes an apply mode that controls which bookings qualify:
Mode
Applies when
Overlaps booking
The booking overlaps the rule window in any way
Inside booking
The booking starts before the window and ends after it (the hire spans the entire rule period)
Spans booking
The booking starts and ends entirely inside the rule period
The editor shows a plain-language summary of what the rule will do before you save it.
Go to Settings → Pricing Details.
Scroll to Pricing modifiers and click the + button.
Enter a name customers will recognise, such as "Weekend surcharge".
Choose Day pricing rule or Date pricing rule.
Set the start and end day/time (or start and end date/time).
Enter the adjustment percentage.
Pick the apply mode that matches your intent.
Review the summary at the bottom, then save.
Open a product from Products.
In the sidebar, open the Modifiers field.
Add existing modifiers or create a new one inline.
Repeat for any other products that should share the same rule.
Modifiers are reusable. Create one weekend rule and attach it to every product that should surcharge on weekends.
At checkout, customers can open the Pricing Breakdown on a product to see tier rates and any applied modifiers for their selected dates.
Each modifier appears as a separate line with its name and dollar amount. The total hire price updates automatically when dates change.
See Customer Online Checkout for the full customer flow.

Pricing modifiers are configured in the web app only. On mobile, open a booking to review the final price and any applied modifier lines on the booking detail screen.
Start with one or two high-impact rules (weekends or holidays) before building a large library.
Use Overlaps booking for most surcharges. It catches any hire that touches the window.
Use Spans booking when you only want to reward or surcharge hires that stay fully inside a window.
Name modifiers clearly. Customers see these names in the pricing breakdown.
Day and time rules always follow your company timezone, even when a booking crosses midnight, weekends, or daylight saving shifts.
Pair modifiers with your base pricing templates so everyday rates stay simple and peak pricing stays automatic.
