Revenue Recovery for Failed Card Charges

Revenue Recovery turns a declined saved-card charge into an automatic payment collection. You enable it once from the booking, and Lockii keeps retrying the card on its machine learning recovery schedule until the payment succeeds or the bank directs us to stop.

No payment links to chase. No manual follow-up unless you want it.

In the app: Bookings → open a booking → Payments in the sidebar

When Revenue Recovery helps

Use Revenue Recovery when:

  • You charged a customer's saved card from a booking and Stripe declined it

  • The customer already has a card on file from checkout or a previous hire

  • You want Lockii to keep trying the card without sending a payment link

Revenue Recovery uses a machine learning algorithm. Charges use machine learning to determine when the most optimal time to charge a card is. Lockii updates the payment automatically when Stripe collects, fails again, or marks the invoice uncollectible.

Given up

Stripe stopped retrying after all attempts (uncollectible).

Paid

The card was charged successfully.

Cancelled

You stopped Revenue Recovery before Stripe collected. The invoice was voided.

Cancelled

What Revenue Recovery does not cover

  • Payment links and manual payments (cash, bank transfer, manual card entry) are not eligible.

  • Revenue Recovery only applies to saved-card charges that failed on an immediate attempt.

  • If Stripe marks a payment Given up, send a payment link or have the customer complete checkout again to save a new card.

Tips

  • Pair Revenue Recovery with your normal inbox routine. Successful retries appear as payment notifications like any other collected charge.

  • Cancel Revenue Recovery before sending a payment link for the same charge. You do not want Stripe and the customer both trying to pay.

  • Cancel Revenue Recovery as soon as you collect another way. That keeps Stripe from charging the card again after you have already been paid.

  • Revenue Recovery is for staff-initiated saved-card charges on bookings. Customer checkout and automated extension payments follow their own Stripe flows.
