Connecting Insurance Verification

Lockii can verify a customer's insurance policy automatically before their first pickup. Customers connect to their insurance provider through a secure flow on their phone. Lockii checks the policy against your rules and unlocks access codes only after verification passes.

This removes manual insurance card checks and helps you confirm real coverage before handover.

In the app: Settings → Integrations → Insurance Verification

How it works

  1. You enable insurance verification and choose which policy rules to enforce.

  2. When a customer books, Lockii asks them to verify insurance on their confirmation page (after identity verification, if you use that too).

  3. The customer completes the insurance check on their phone. Lockii connects directly to their provider to confirm the policy.

  4. Once verified, Lockii issues lock codes and the hire continues on autopilot.

  5. Verification is stored on the customer profile. Repeat customers do not need to verify again until it expires.

Lock codes stay hidden until insurance verification is complete, the same way they do for identity verification.

Setup

  1. Go to Settings → Integrations.

  2. Under Identity, click Insurance Verification.

  3. Choose your insurance rules:

    • Policy must be current — reject expired policies

    • Require liability coverage

    • Require collision coverage

    • Require comprehensive coverage

  4. Click Setup Insurance Verification.

Insurance verification costs $4 per successful verification.

What customers see

On the booking confirmation page (https://book.lockii.app/{your-company}/confirmation/{orderId}), customers see an Insurance Verification Required card when verification is needed.

They tap Verify Insurance, complete the provider connection on their phone, and return to the confirmation page. Lockii updates the page automatically once verification succeeds.

The Next Steps section on the confirmation page also lists insurance verification when it is still required.

Managing verification on a customer profile

Open any customer in the dashboard. The Insurance Verification panel appears when insurance verification is enabled for your company.

From there you can:

  • Share Verification Link — copy a link for the customer to complete verification on their phone

  • Manually Verify Insurance — mark a customer as verified for one year when you have already confirmed coverage offline. You can optionally attach a document URL.

  • View Insurance Report — open the verification report for automatically verified customers

  • Mark as unverified — clear verification if coverage lapses or you need the customer to re-verify

Staff actions here are for exceptions. The default path is the automated customer flow on the confirmation page.

Mobile app

Customers complete insurance verification in their mobile browser on the booking confirmation page. There is no separate customer mobile app.

Staff can now manage insurance verification from a customer profile in the Lockii mobile app:

  1. Open a customer from Search or a booking.

  2. Scroll to the Insurance verification section on their profile.

  3. Tap Send insurance link to generate and copy a verification link (requires a confirmed booking that has not ended).

  4. Tap View insurance verification to open the verification report for verified customers.

  5. Use Mark insurance manually verified or Remove insurance verification when you need to override the automated result.

See Lockii Mobile App for more on the operator app.

Tips

  • Turn on insurance verification only when your hire type genuinely needs confirmed coverage.

  • Start with Policy must be current and add collision or comprehensive rules only if your risk profile requires them.

  • If a customer is stuck, use Share Verification Link from their profile instead of asking them to hunt for the confirmation page.

  • Pair this with Connecting Stripe Identity when you need both identity and insurance checks before pickup.
